It could also be a real blow-out . . .

#2 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » [SOLVED] python3-apt stuck on my Excalibur VMs » 2024-05-07 19:14:45

Excalibur is unlikely to be "settled" until Debian Trixie goes stable . . . if even then. Proceed with caution as there will likely be more bumps in the road..

Please use code tags (see line above this input box) to hilight terminal output. Thanks.

#5 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » [SOLVED] Dragonfly MTA not forwarding cron mail » 2024-05-05 14:39:16

It was typed in title of this thread. I corrected it after your confirmation.

#8 Re: Forum Feedback » [SOLVED] Forum timeout while logged in » 2024-04-28 01:32:03

@Altoid . . . Perhaps a less verbose and redundant writing style would solve the problem. After all Devuanistas do tend to be minimalists!  wink

#9 Re: Forum Feedback » [SOLVED] Forum timeout while logged in » 2024-04-28 00:24:01

@Altoid . . . Why not write in a text editor and c/p for final tweaks. Or provide a patch and see what rrq says . . .

#10 Re: Devuan » the next stable » 2024-04-26 01:19:51

Just incoherent ramblings which we are watching carefully . . .

#11 Re: Devuan » [SOLVED] usrmerge is a crock of crap, catastrophic » 2024-04-25 22:48:10

/me wonders if the ghost of andyp67 has returned . . .

I doubt you will get an argument from anyone in the Devuan camp . . .

#13 Re: Other Issues » [SOLVED] Devuan Excalibur/Ceres started to work slowly after the recent update » 2024-04-24 19:17:27

Which was instructed in the link I posted yesterday . . . sigh . . .

#15 Re: Other Issues » [SOLVED] Devuan Excalibur/Ceres started to work slowly after the recent update » 2024-04-23 20:11:19

Did you not see this link that I posted yesterday?
UsrMerge Status: Testing/Excalibur and more

Welcome to the forum!

Testing (Excalibur)  and unstable are very unreliable at this time partly due to the usrmerge. Have a look at the announcement:
UsrMerge Status: Testing/Excalibur and more

Other issues are also discussed on this very forum.

@quickfur . . . I have to admit that you are really good at this . . .  smile

#18 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » [SOLVED] Beowulf updates - no release file » 2024-04-15 20:31:09

@Altoid . . . beowulf has been archived so you'll need to change your sources.list though I understand there are still some unfinished bits.

The Devuan web page (accessible by a link on the top of this page) amongst other information also shows a list of banned packages. Only these are modified or replaced.

I have always thought that packages on that list were actually BANNED ie not installable in Devuan.  Packages that are forked or native will have a reference to devuan in the filename but I'm not sure of the exact formula. Someone else here will.

I am posting this at fsmithred's request.

Please cease and desist using Refracta*  in the title/name of your isos and instead create a unique name to identify your efforts.

@quickfur . . . Three posts in less than 5 minutes. Really? WHY when you could have edited your first post?

/me scratches head . . .

#23 Re: Off-topic » The Joke Thread » 2024-04-02 23:57:21

@zapper . . . You completely missed the point of my response. The joke is only tangentially relevant. The comment questioned why anyone would waste their time on something so useless. But then most people waste their entire lives on useless things . . .

#25 Re: Off-topic » The Joke Thread » 2024-03-27 15:21:21

Why didn't  golinux appreciate the joke?
Because it is painful to see a life wasted on nonsense.
